SPM Design Engineer (Jig & Fixture)

Role & responsibilities:

• Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) based on customer specifications and project requirements.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Design mechanical components such as Jigs & Fixtures, Pneumatic Systems, Linear Motion Systems, and Material Handling Equipment.
• Perform design calculations, component selection, and tolerance analysis.
• Coordinate with production, fabrication, procurement, and assembly teams to ensure smooth manufacturing and implementation.
• Modify and improve existing machine designs to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
• Maintain design documentation, revision history, and engineering records.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Hands-on experience in SPM, Jig & Fixture, and Material Handling Equipments.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, machining, and sheet metal components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualification:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
