Specialist - Vendor Development - Sheetmetal

Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles. Contribute in tool design DAP(Design approval process). Should be able to calculate strip utilization and layout. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods. Experience with sheet metal manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, laser cutting, bending, welding). Sound experience in machining like (Milling, Grinding, VMC, Wire cut, CNC, M1TR, Boring, Hardening, Coating). Should have Press tool (Cutting and Non-Cutting) knowledge. Participate in tooling trials, evaluating parts before submitting them to the Quality team for the FPA Process. Monitor the pilot lot production, ensuring all required infrastructure related to production and quality was available before the PPAP audit. Arranging PPAP documents from suppliers. Initial review of same before sharing with CFT Identify and evaluate the new suppliers as per business needs. Participate in PPAP audits with the CFT team. Manage the sheet metal tool, fixture, gauge development process, including planning, scheduling, and execution. Strong knowledge of process parameter like setting, right tool specification implementation APQP & PPAP, QMS PDI, Inspection reports, Work instructions. Knowledge of surface treatments like Plating, Electropolishing, Polishing, Powder coating, Painting(Water transfer/Heat Transfer), Various Hardening process like( Vacuum Hardening), Coating(PVD, Lumina, Hard Crome). Knowledge of dimensional and mechanical testing, such as tensile, bend, and hardness tests, to validate product quality. Work with production teams to implement corrective actions and prevent Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues. Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions. Qualifications & Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Experience: At least 10-15 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry. Knowledge: Strong understanding of sheet metal forming processes (e.g., stamping, bending, welding), quality standards (ISO 9001, TS 16949), and quality tools (Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA). Skills: Software- Solidworks, Catia, UG, AutoCad will be addition advantage. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
