Purpose of the Role
As an Industrial Design Specialist for CAD Digital Twins, your role is to prepare, optimize, and organize complex engineering CAD data for Digital Twin development. You act as the front end
of the digital workflow, transforming raw 3D engineering files into clean, accurate, and visualization-ready assets that enable the US-based Industrial Design teams to work efficiently. This is a production-focused role that emphasizes speed, precision, and consistency in highvolume, detail-oriented CAD preparation and handoff.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the intake, organization, and validation of complex 3D CAD data received from engineering teams
- Prepare and optimize CAD geometry by repairing surfaces, removing unnecessary internal components, simplifying assemblies, and improving mesh quality for downstream use.
- Ability to create accurate, production-ready 3D CAD models of real-world Newell products using physical samples, technical drawings, measurements, reference imagery, scan data, and industrial design intent.
- Develop original product geometry and complex surface models from concept through detailed CAD, ensuring form, proportion, assembly relationships, and manufacturability are faithfully represented.
- Reconstruct missing, incomplete, or legacy product geometry and translate physical product details into clean parametric or surface-based CAD suitable for Digital Twin, visualization, and downstream engineering workflows.
- Standardize and organize engineering files into defined Digital Twin structures and workflows to enable seamless handoff to the US-based Industrial Design team.
- Execute high-volume CAD optimization and data preparation tasks with exceptional accuracy, consistency, and efficiency to support project timelines
- Maintain the integrity of engineering data by ensuring all 3D assets accurately reflect the latest design specifications while preserving the visual quality required for commercial visualization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to ensure CAD files meet visualization and rendering requirements, including NURBS quality, tessellation standards, and CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) mapping.
- Follow established CAD data management standards, workflows, and quality control processes to deliver clean, organized, and visualization-ready assets.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance CAD preparation workflows, increase efficiency, and improve overall data quality.
What You ll Need:
Minimum:
- Bachelor s degree in industrial design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in 3D modeling, CAD design, and engineering data management.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, including PTC Creo and SolidWorks.
- Experience developing and designing products using parametric CAD modeling techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, clean, and optimize complex CAD assemblies for downstream visualization and Digital Twin workflows.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), product assemblies, and component structure.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute repetitive, accuracy-driven technical tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
Your Advantage:
- Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 for product design and CAD modeling.
- Experience in mesh modeling, CAD conversion, and geometry optimization for visualization workflows.
- Proficiency in 360 product visualization, rendering, and visualization tools such as KeyShot and Adobe Substance 3D.
- Familiarity with Digital Twin asset preparation and visualization-ready CAD workflows.
- Knowledge of CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) mapping, tessellation, and NURBS data preparation.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering and industrial design teams in a global environment.
