Specialist Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Operations:

• Act as L3 Escalation Point: Resolve complex, high-priority incidents related to Azure PaaS services within enterprise SLA windows.
• Environment Management: Oversee daily health, provisioning, and configuration of the enterprise Azure PaaS footprint.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize resource utilization, scaling thresholds, and performance metrics across all PaaS components.

Automation & Scripting:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, maintain, and deploy Azure infrastructure using Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
• Automation Scripting: Write and maintain advanced PowerShell and Azure CLI scripts to automate routine management, configuration, and compliance checks.
• CI/CD Integration: Support deployment pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions) ensuring seamless application delivery into PaaS environments.

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis (RCA):

• Deep Diagnostics: Diagnose complex networking, authentication, and integration issues between interconnected PaaS components.
• Log Analysis: Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to write KQL queries, build dashboards, and conduct deep-dive RCA.
• High Availability Support: Troubleshoot and maintain business continuity strategies, including backup, recovery, and geo-replication.

Technical Requirements:

Core Azure PaaS Expertise

• Compute & Integration: Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, and API Management (APIM).
• Data & Storage: Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse, and Azure Storage Accounts.
• Messaging & Eventing: Service Bus, Event Hubs, and Event Grid.
• Containerization: Azure Container Apps and Azure Container Registry (AKS experience is a plus).

Networking & Security:

• Private Networking: Deep knowledge of Private Endpoints, Service Endpoints, VNet Integration, and Azure Application Gateway.
• Identity & Access: Implementation of Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID), Managed Identities, RBAC, and Azure Key Vault.

Tools & Scripting

• Languages: Advanced proficiency in PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• IaC: Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates.

Monitoring:

• Expert-level knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL (Kusto Query Language), and Application Insights

Soft Skills & Certifications:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for production-down scenarios.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with L2 operations, DevOps, and development teams.
• Preferred Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) combined with Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204).
