Position Name: Specialist- Drive Shaft/driveline system

Qualification: B.E. /B. Tech Mechanical/Automobile

Experience: 12 to 15 years of relevant experience

Location: Pune

Purpose of the Position:

To lead and drive the complete Driveline & Drive Shaft system development strategy for ICE, Hybrid and BEV vehicle programs, ensuring technical excellence, product quality, cost competitiveness, manufacturability, and timely project delivery. Responsible for building technical capability, leading cross-functional and global stakeholder collaboration, managing development budgets, driving supplier development, and ensuring successful vehicle program execution from concept to BMG release and production implementation.

Authority:

• Define technical roadmap and development strategy for drivetrain and drive shaft systems.
• Approve technical concepts, design freeze recommendations, and engineering changes.
• Approve supplier nomination recommendations from an engineering perspective.
• Lead risk mitigation and escalation for critical project issues.
• Own development budget planning and utilization.
• Approve validation plans and release recommendations.
• Drive localization strategy and cost optimization initiatives.
• Represent the department in management reviews and global technical forums.
• Lead resource planning and competency development of engineering teams.
• Final recommendation authority for BMG and SOP readiness of responsible systems

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Lead complete driveline and drive shaft system development strategy, concept selection, design release and technical governance for vehicle programs
• Drive project execution, milestone achievement, risk management and program readiness from concept to SOP/BMG
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Production, Quality, Purchase, Logistics, Program Management and Global R&D teams
• Manage supplier selection, capability assessment, localization strategy and technical supplier development activities
• Own system validation strategy, testing plans, issue resolution and release recommendation activities
• Lead problem-solving activities, field quality investigations and implementation of corrective actions
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering and budget management for responsible systems
• Develop and mentor engineering team members, build organizational capability and succession planning
• Represent the organization in management reviews, global forums and technical decision-making committees
• Drive innovation, benchmarking and future technology development for driveline systems including electrified powertrains
