Special Education Teacher

Role & responsibilities

• Assess students with special educational needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on students' learning needs.
• Adapt lesson plans, teaching methods, and learning materials to support diverse learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement inclusive teaching practices.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Conduct remedial sessions to improve academic, behavioral, and social skills.
• Work closely with parents, counselors, therapists, and school staff to ensure holistic student development.
• Support students with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, and other special needs.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and appropriate intervention strategies.
• Ensure compliance with school policies and inclusive education guidelines.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (B.Ed. Special Education/M.Ed. Special Education) or equivalent qualification recognized by RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India).
• Valid RCI Registration is preferred.
• 25 years of experience as a Special Educator in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, assessment tools, and inclusive education practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs.
• Proficient in classroom management, documentation, and progress reporting.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office/Google Workspace
