Sourcing Specialist - Casting & Forging / Machining Parts

Role & responsibilities

• Experience in handling Castings, Forgings, Machined Components, and other engineering parts.
• Release Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order execution and delivery schedules.
• Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery as per production requirements.
• Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Monitor stock levels and take proactive action to avoid material shortages and production stoppages.
• Coordinate with Quality for incoming inspection, rejection, replacement, and supplier corrective actions.
• Conduct supplier visits and periodic supplier performance reviews.
• Identify alternate sources and support supplier development activities.
• Drive cost reduction through negotiation, value engineering, alternate sourcing, and productivity improvements.
• Identify opportunities for inventory reduction and storage optimization.
• Understand engineering drawings, component specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement and procurement process improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

• 6-10 years of experience in Procurement / Purchase, preferably from a Heavy Engineering / Engineering Product Manufacturing industry.
