Solution Architect

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end technical solutions aligned with business objectives, functional requirements, and scalability needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical architecture, solution designs, and implementation roadmaps.
• Define application architecture, system integration patterns, technology stacks, and architectural standards.
• Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies, frameworks, cloud platforms, and third-party solutions.
• Design scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performance systems using cloud-native technologies, microservices, APIs, and distributed architectures.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, developers, DevOps engineers, security teams, and other stakeholders.
• Develop architecture diagrams, technical specifications, solution blueprints, and implementation documentation.
• Assess existing systems, identify architectural gaps, and recommend modernisation, migration, and optimisation strategies.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for security, compliance, availability, disaster recovery, and performance.
• Define integration strategies for APIs, databases, enterprise applications, and external systems.
• Review technical designs and code, provide architectural guidance, and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Evaluate solution costs, risks, feasibility, and resource requirements while ensuring optimal technology investments.
• Support project delivery, proof-of-concept development, technical evaluations, and production implementation.
• Establish architectural best practices and ensure adherence to enterprise technology standards.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in software development, system design, cloud engineering, or technical solution delivery.
• Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end solutions for enterprise applications or large-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, microservices, distributed systems, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems, caching, and data integration technologies.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of application security, identity management, network architecture, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Ability to evaluate technology options, assess trade-offs, estimate solution costs, and make sound architectural decisions.
• Strong documentation, analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams and coordinating with cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
