Solution Architect - MS Fabric

Role Summary We are hiring an experienced Solution Architect – Microsoft Fabric to lead enterprise data platform migration and greenfield implementations on Microsoft Fabric. This role is delivery focused and hands on, responsible for defining target architectures, guiding implementation teams, and ensuring successful adoption of Fabric-based Lakehouse and analytics platforms. The architect will work closely with client data teams, enterprise architects, and internal engineering teams to design, govern, and deliver scalable, secure, and high performance data platforms on Azure. Key Responsibilities 1) Architecture & Solution Design Design end-to-end data and analytics architectures using Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, Power BI). Lead data platform migration initiatives (legacy DW, ETL, reporting) to Microsoft Fabric. Design greenfield Fabric platforms aligned to enterprise standards, security, and scalability requirements. Define reference architectures, design patterns, and best practices for Fabric adoption. 2) Data Engineering & Platform Enablement Architect and guide implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric Data Factory, Spark (PySpark), and SQL. Define data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, semantic modeling, and analytics layers. Establish data governance, security, lineage, and lifecycle management using Fabric capabilities and Azure Purview. Define CI/CD and DevOps standards for Fabric workloads. 3) Technical Leadership & Delivery Act as technical lead for delivery programs, providing architectural oversight across implementation phases. Conduct architecture reviews, design validations, and technical checkpoints. Provide hands-on guidance during critical build, firefighting situations and migration phases. Mentor data engineers and reviewers on modern Lakehouse and Fabric engineering practices. 4) Client Collaboration (Delivery-Focused) Engage with client stakeholders for requirements discovery, design discussions, and solution walkthroughs. Collaborate with client architects and SMEs to align on target-state architecture and migration approach. Support smooth transition from implementation to operations. Required Skills & Experience 1) Core Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including: o OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse o Fabric Data Factory, Notebooks, Semantic Models, Power BI Strong proficiency in Spark (PySpark) and SQL. Deep experience with Azure data services: ADF, Synapse Analytics, ADLS, Azure Purview, AKV, Azure Monitor. Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data platform migrations and greenfield builds. 2) Architecture & Engineering Practices Strong understanding of Lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT patterns, batch and streaming data processing. Experience designing for security, governance, performance optimization, and cost management. Hands-on exposure to CI/CD, DevOps, and automation for data platforms. Professional Skills Strong delivery ownership and technical leadership skills. Ability to translate business and analytics requirements into robust technical designs. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in client-facing delivery environments. Good to Have Microsoft certifications: o Microsoft Fabric / Azure Data Architect Experience with: o Azure Purview or enterprise data governance tools o Power BI semantic modeling and enterprise BI design o Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) Experience Exposure to AI/ML-ready data platform design on Fabric is a plus.
