About this role
Job Description
- Lead end to end architectural design and governance of Microsoft .NET based systems, ensuring scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Define cloud native and hybrid architectures on Microsoft Azure. Implement these architectures, including App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management, and data platforms. Ensure high availability, resiliency, and cost efficiency in these implementations.
- Drive application modernization initiatives, including decomposition of legacy systems, migration to cloud native architectures, and adoption of containerization and serverless paradigms.
- Create and evolve enterprise grade applications, APIs, and integration layers that operate consistently across multiple platforms, channels, and devices, ensuring interoperability and extensibility.
- Define and oversee implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, environment standardization, and release governance using Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling.
- Provide architectural oversight through design reviews, code reviews, and technical governance forums, ensuring alignment with defined standards and long term system sustainability.
- Develop and enforce source control strategies, including branching models, code check in policies, and traceability standards across distributed teams.
- Mentor engineers and technical leads, fostering architectural thinking, design rigor, and adherence to engineering excellence principles across the organization.
- Delegate architectural tasks and guide execution while maintaining accountability for overall system integrity and quality.
- Participate in incident management processes, including on call escalation, root cause analysis, and systemic remediation planning.
- Promote a DevOps culture by integrating development and operations practices, enabling continuous delivery, automation, and shared ownership of production systems.
- You will report to the Director of Engineering Qualifications
- Bachelors in computers or Master preferred.
- You need to have 13+ years of professional Microsoft development and architectural experience
- 4+ years of Azure cloud experience
- Extensive experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core
- This is an Individual Contributor role
- Extensive experience with Azure Cloud Solutions (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS), Azure Entra, App Services, Azure Functions, APIM, Azure SQL.
- Experience with Microsoft AI & ML including hands on experience with Azure AI Foundry
- Extensive experience with MS SQL Server, T-SQL, Relational Database Design
- Extensive experience with modern UI frameworks (Angular / Vue / React / Blazor / Web Assembly)
- Experience with GenAI
- Experience with SSIS, ETL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric.
- Expert knowledge of common Architectural Patterns and Cloud Native development
- Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Entity Framework or other ORM
- Experience defining and governing an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC): standards for spec-driven development, agent instruction files and context (e.g. AGENTS.md / Copilot instructions), MCP server usage, and guardrails for secure and responsible AI use across teams.
- Experience architecting GenAI-enabled features on Azure: Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, RAG patterns, prompt and agent orchestration (Semantic Kernel or equivalent), with attention to cost, latency, grounding, and data privacy.
- Experience with LLM evaluation and observability: prompt versioning, eval datasets, hallucination and regression testing, and tracing of model calls in production.
- Ability to measure and report the impact of AI tooling on delivery velocity, quality, and cost, and to drive adoption through enablement and mentoring.
