SolidWorks Design Engineer

About the role

We're looking for a SolidWorks designer with hands-on sheet metal experience to create accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings for our fabrication projects. Location: Noida Sector 80. Experience: 2 to 5 years. Salary: 30,000 to 40,000 per month. Timing: 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Responsibilities

- Create 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks, especially sheet metal parts and enclosures

- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T, tolerances and bend details

- Generate flat patterns, bend allowances and DXF files for laser cutting and bending

- Create detailed BOMs that include all hardware such as fasteners, clinching hardware, locks and hinges, and keep drawing revisions in order

- Work with the production team to make designs easy to manufacture

- Modify existing designs based on customer and shop-floor feedback

Must-have skills

- 2 to 5 years of SolidWorks experience, with strong command of the Sheet Metal module

- Good knowledge of sheet metal processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending and welding

- Ability to read and create engineering drawings

- Strong hardware knowledge for BOM creation, including fasteners and standard parts

- Knowledge of clinching hardware (PEM nuts, studs and standoffs) and how to design for it

- Understanding of powder coating, including allowances and masking in the design

- Knowledge of selecting locks and hinges for enclosures and panels

- Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Good to have

- Experience with enclosures, panels, racks or fabricated structures

- AutoCAD knowledge

- Basic understanding of material selection and costing
