SolarWinds Administrator

Roles and Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain SolarWinds platform components (NPM, NCM, NTA, SAM, IPAM).
• Monitor network and infrastructure performance to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve network monitoring alerts and incidents.
• Configure dashboards, reports, thresholds, and alerting mechanisms for proactive monitoring.
• Perform tool upgrades, patching, backup, and health checks of monitoring platforms.
• Coordinate with Network, Security, Server, and Application teams for issue resolution.
• Ensure adherence to ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Prepare operational reports, RCA documentation, and capacity planning recommendations.

Technical Requirements

• Experience in Network Monitoring, Infrastructure Monitoring, or Tool Administration.
• Hands-on experience with SolarWinds administration and configuration.
• Strong understanding of SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, Syslog, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing Switching.
• Experience with network troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
• Good understanding of network devices including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Wireless Controllers.
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell/Python) is an added advantage.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology
