Solar Applied Technology Engineer

Work Experience

Solar cell fabrication or thick-film paste application: screen printing, firing/curing, IV testing; customer trials

Education

BE/BTech or MS/MTech in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Chemical Engineering

Application testing

• Print, dry, fire or cure paste samples on test cells and substrates using standard lab procedures.
• Measure and analyze cell and contact performance: IV parameters, contact resistance, line width/height, adhesion.
• Run designed experiments comparing new formulations against benchmarks and competitor products.

Customer support

• Support customer trials on site: set-up, process tuning, data collection and reporting.
• Help investigate customer issues and complaints and recommend process or product changes.
• Build working relationships with customer process engineers.

Documentation & lab

• Write test reports, trial reports and application notes.
• Maintain accurate lab records and sample tracking.
• Look after lab equipment, calibration and safe working practices; guide Assistants on daily tasks.
