Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and thorough

Software Test Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and functionality of our software products. The ideal candidate possesses an exceptional eye for detail, deep experience in manual testing across complex web applications, and hands-on experience in test automation using

Playwright .

Key Responsibilities Manual Testing & Quality Architecture

• Review, analyze, and challenge product requirements, functional specs, and wireframes to ensure testability and catch logic gaps early.
• Design, write, and execute detailed, structured test plans, test cases, and matrix-based test scenarios covering functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
• Conduct rigorous exploratory testing to expose non-obvious defects, usability bottlenecks, and edge-case behavior.
• Perform multi-browser and cross-platform compatibility testing across major desktop browsers and mobile viewport emulators.

Test Automation (Playwright)

• Design, develop, and maintain a robust, scalable automated test framework using

Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python).

• Migrate existing manual regression test suites into maintainable automated tests to accelerate sprint release cadence.
• Conduct automated API testing (REST/GraphQL) integrated alongside UI automation scripts.
• Diagnose, debug, and fix flaky or failing automated test scripts to ensure reliable pipeline signals.

Defect Management & Reporting

• File precise, structured defect reports in Jira (including clear reproduction steps, environment details, logs, screenshots, and video recordings).
• Perform thorough root-cause analysis (RCA) alongside software developers to isolate issues faster.
• Track defect lifecycles from initial discovery through developer verification and deployment re-testing.
• Measure and report quality metrics, such as test execution coverage, pass/fail rates, and defect trends.

Agile Collaboration & CI/CD

• Active participation in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospectives).
• Collaborate with DevOps/Engineering to integrate Playwright test runs into continuous integration pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Validate production deployments through targeted smoke testing post-release.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience as a QA Engineer or Software Test Engineer.
• Manual Testing Mastery: Expert understanding of STLC, test design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning), and end-to-end user journey validation.
• Playwright Automation: At least 1–2 years of hands-on experience building and executing UI automation scripts using

Playwright .

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision—ability to catch subtle layout shifts, micro-interaction glitches, text alignment errors, and inconsistent system states.
• API Testing: Proficient in API testing and validation using tools such as Postman, Bruno, or Insomnia.
• Technical Proficiency: o Solid working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or Python. o Practical understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM structure, JSON, HTTP methods, status codes). o Familiarity with Version Control using

Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews).

• Agile Work Environment: Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar issue-tracking tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on test automation.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in

designing and building Test Automation Frameworks .

• Proven expertise in at least one modern automation tool:

Playwright (strongly preferred) , Selenium WebDriver, or Cypress.

• Solid experience with mobile automation using

Appium .

• Demonstrable experience in integrating and managing automated tests within

CI/CD pipelines .

• Strong programming skills in one or more of the following:

JavaScript/TypeScript (highly desirable with Playwright) , Java, Python, or C#.

• Possess good knowledge in creating test plans and test strategies.
• Experience in API testing using tools like REST Assured, Postman, or similar.
• Deep understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and the SDLC.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to gel and work in a team and assist junior team members on techno-functional grounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

• ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or similar certification.
