Senior Systems Engineer to join our team.
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Systems Engineer with a strong background in the aerospace industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in software systems engineering, including expertise in systems documentation, integration, Software Requirements Definition (SRD), verification and validation processes, and a thorough understanding of the V-Model and Agile development methodologies. A solid understanding of RTCA DO-178C standards for aerospace software certification is essential. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop, document, and validate mission-critical software systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities: 1.
Requirements Development and Documentation
- Develop and document system and software requirements, ensuring they align with stakeholder needs and regulatory standards.
- Create and maintain detailed Software Requirements Documentation (SRD) for projects.
- Lead requirements traceability efforts, ensuring every requirement is accounted for from development through validation. 1.
Systems Integration
- Oversee the integration of complex software systems within aerospace platforms, ensuring seamless communication and functionality across systems.
- Conduct system integration tests, evaluate results, and refine the integration process as needed. 1.
Verification and Validation
- Lead verification and validation activities, ensuring that software meets design specifications and safety standards.
- Implement the V-Model approach to testing, following a structured and staged testing approach.
- Document results of testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with RTCA DO-178C standards. 1.
Project Collaboration and Agile Methodology
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, systems engineers, and quality assurance, to drive projects to completion.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and use Agile principles to manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones effectively. 1.
Regulatory Compliance and Certification
- Ensure compliance with RTCA DO-178C guidelines for software development and certification in the aerospace sector.
- Provide support for safety audits, regulatory reviews, and other compliance activities. 1.
Technical Leadership and Mentoring
- Serve as a technical lead for software engineering projects, guiding junior engineers and providing expertise on complex issues.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system audits to uphold technical standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in software systems engineering within the aerospace or defence industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding and application of the V-Model and Agile software development methodologies.
- Extensive experience with RTCA DO-178C standards.
- Proficiency in software systems documentation, requirements development, and verification/validation processes.
- Familiarity with systems integration processes, particularly in mission-critical applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in aerospace applications (e.g., C, C++, Python).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in both team-oriented and independent environments.
