About this role
About the role Telecom mediation and rating platforms process billions of events daily, requiring precise collection, validation, transformation, enrichment, and delivery to prevent revenue leakage, billing errors, compliance risks, and fraud. This role ensures every event is accurately processed, rated, and passed to downstream systems like Billing, Assurance, and Fraud Management—protecting revenue, ensuring reliability, and enabling data-driven decisions and seamless customer experiences.
What you’ll be doing Technical Solution Delivery
- Supports implementation of telecom mediation solutions, resolving inter-system issues and contributing within cross-functional squads.
Architecture & Technology Choices
- Contributes to technical decisions, technology selection, and architecture for high-performance mediation platforms, balancing short- and long-term needs.
Software Design & Development
- Supports design and development aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Technical Specifications & Builds
- Assists in defining technical specifications and delivering solutions for low-complexity initiatives.
Coding & Testing
- Writes, tests, debugs, and reviews code under guidance, ensuring quality and clarity.
Systems Integration
- Integrates software and resolves routine issues to ensure seamless interoperability.
Defect Management
- Monitors and fixes defects to maintain platform stability and reliability.
Tooling & Automation
- Supports CI/CD, automation tools, and pipeline optimization to improve delivery.

- Assists in delivering a forward-looking roadmap aligned with business and engineering goals.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Strong experience across
OCOMC/ONM (v6/12/15) including cartridge development, NPL scripting, CDR parsing, normalization, enrichment, aggregation, and high-throughput event processing, along with deployment, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Solid background in
Java/J2EE, REST APIs, and multi-threaded processing, with scripting expertise (Shell/Python/Perl) for automation and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience in WebLogic deployment, JVM tuning, cluster management, JDBC optimization, and resolving performance issues like memory leaks and stuck threads.
- Experience with Netcracker Revenue Manager (or equivalent), covering rating engine concepts, charge flows, price plans, and configuration of rating rules and usage models.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot rating issues and missing usage events, ensuring Mediation → Rating → Billing alignment across batch and near real-time workflows.
- Strong understanding of telecom data formats including Diameter, ASN.1 CDRs, TAP/RAP/NRTRDE, 3GPP standards (VoLTE, 5G, GTP’, SIP, CAMEL), IPDR, and vendor-specific formats, with ability to decode and map raw network events.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- 3–6 years in
Java development with 3+ years of hands-on
OCOMC experience across cartridge development, NPL scripting, mediation/rating workflows, and deployments.
- Experience building and managing scalable mediation systems processing billions of events with high accuracy, low latency, and fault tolerance.
- Strong understanding of telecom event formats (Diameter, ASN.1, TAP/RAP/NRTRDE, IPDR, 3GPP CDRs) with ability to analyze and map raw data.
- Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven), monitoring (Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK), and production support including debugging, RCA, and stability management.
- Experience working on large-scale distributed systems and ETL flows into Billing/Assurance/Fraud platforms, collaborating within Agile squads and driving performance and automation improvements
