Software Engineer

Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a strong in C#, Windows Forms, and the .NET Framework to join a high-impact industrial automation team. In this role you will design, develop, and modernise control software for complex manufacturing and conveyor-based systems, taking ownership of multiple subsystems from protocol integration through to production-floor validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications Core Language - C# (.NET Framework 4.7) mandatory

UI Framework - Windows Forms (WinForms) mandatory

Industrial Protocols - Experience implementing or integrating machine/transport communication protocols

Motion Control - Understanding of X/Y axis movement control and sequencing logic

Automation Concepts - Familiarity with stacker/de-stacker, conveyor, feeder, or similar material-handling systems

Data Formats - JSON serialization/deserialization; QR code reading and validation

State Machines / SFC - Knowledge of Sequential Function Chart concepts or equivalent state-machine design patterns

Version Control - Git or equivalent branching, code review, merge workflows

Problem Solving - Ability to read, understand, and selectively refactor legacy codebases without full rewrites

Nice to Have

• Experience with SCADA systems, MES integration, or shop-floor data collection platforms.
• Exposure to PLC communication (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus) or industrial Ethernet protocols.
• Familiarity with process data servers or MES process confirmation workflows.
• Knowledge of barcode / QR code scanning hardware integration in production environments.
• Prior experience in automotive, electronics manufacturing, or high-precision assembly lines.

Experience & Education

• 3 to 7 years of professional software development experience with a focus on C# and .NET desktop applications.
• Demonstrable experience working on industrial automation, manufacturing execution, or machine-control software.
• Bachelors degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
