About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in Automation Testing and Java Coding to join our Operations & Technology Fraud Products team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of new capabilities for Mastercard’s Decision Management Platform, which is pivotal in combating fraud and verifying cardholder identities. Our platform is built on a patented Java-based architecture capable of processing billions of transactions per month in milliseconds, utilizing a multi-tiered, message-oriented approach to ensure high performance and availability. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing industry-leading solutions that address complex fraud detection challenges, accelerate business solutions to market, and leverage cutting-edge technologies to innovate in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Overall 6-9 years of professional experience in Automation Testing with Java.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Jbehave, or Cucumber.
• Hands-on experience in regression testing across multiple environments as part of release cycles.
• Proven ability to test web services, web UI, and APIs effectively.
• Capability to create comprehensive acceptance and integration test automation scripts, integrating with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and code coverage tools such as Sonar or Clover.
• Passion for maintaining high code quality and adhering to coding best practices.
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Solid knowledge of Java, Spring framework, Eclipse IDE, Rest Assured, and testing frameworks like JBehave or Cucumber.
• Experience working with databases, REST/SOAP APIs, and continuous delivery concepts and tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo.
• Awareness of vulnerability assessment tools like Sonar, Checkmarx, or Fortify.
• Excellent technical acumen with the ability to learn new software rapidly.
• Strong understanding of traditional testing methodologies and their application within Agile environments, including exploratory testing.
• High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working under pressure independently.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong collaboration and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive Test Engineering services, including regression testing, code quality assurance, testing automation, and environment management.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for GUI and API testing, ensuring coverage across all testing levels.
• Participate in regression and integration testing phases as releases progress through various environments prior to production deployment.
• Identify testing gaps during regression cycles and collaborate with development teams to address and resolve issues.
• Conduct ad hoc and exploratory testing to validate system functionality from an end-user perspective.
• Analyze user stories to understand testing requirements across unit, functional, integration, and regression testing phases.
• Manage and track testing progress and defects using tools such as Rally.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices and quality assurance processes.
• Engage with cross-functional teams, including Test Engineers, Developers, DevOps, Product Managers, and Program Managers, to define project scope and deliverables.
• Promote the adoption of development services like Quality Engineering, Performance Engineering, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery across teams.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, providing daily status updates and flagging potential delays or blockers.
