About this role
Job Summary We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and support software for regulated medical devices. The role involves working across Android, Python, and embedded Linux platforms to develop imaging applications, troubleshoot hardware-software integration issues, implement new features, validate software, and support product releases while complying with medical device quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and enhance Android applications for medical imaging devices. * Design and implement software features using Java, Kotlin, Python, and C/C++ where required. * Develop and maintain image processing and analysis algorithms using OpenCV, TensorFlow Lite, and related libraries. * Work with embedded Linux systems, Raspberry Pi, and custom Android hardware platforms. * Interface with hardware components including cameras, batteries, sensors, GPIO, I2C, SPI, USB, and serial communication. * Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software, firmware, and hardware integration issues. * Perform software verification, validation, and debugging throughout the product lifecycle. * Create and maintain comprehensive, high-quality software documentation. * Participate in software change management, version control, and configuration management. * Support production issues, customer-reported defects, and field investigations. * Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous process improvements. Technical Skills * Strong programming experience in Java, Kotlin, and Python. * Experience developing Android applications. * Knowledge of embedded Linux systems. * Experience with Git and version control workflows. * Familiarity with OpenCV and image processing concepts. * Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and network communication. * Experience debugging hardware-software interactions. Preferred Skills * Experience with TensorFlow Lite or machine learning integration. * Experience with Raspberry Pi or embedded platforms. * Knowledge of camera systems and image acquisition pipelines. * Familiarity with medical device software development. * Experience with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and software lifecycle documentation. * Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts for medical devices. * Experience creating automated test scripts and engineering tools. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. * 2–5 years of software development experience. * Experience in embedded systems or medical device software is preferred.
