React Native Software Development Engineer I to help build and enhance mobile experiences used by millions of users across India.

Role Overview As a React Native Software Development Engineer I, you will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and senior developers to create high-quality mobile experiences. You will build scalable, maintainable, and performant React Native applications while contributing to engineering best practices and product innovation. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving real-world product challenges, building polished mobile experiences, and working in a fast-paced consumer technology environment.

Key Responsibilities Mobile Application Development

• Build and maintain user-facing features using React Native for Swiggy’s consumer-facing mobile applications.
• Develop clean, reusable, and scalable components that deliver consistent user experiences across Android devices.
• Translate product and design requirements into high-quality technical implementations.
• Ensure mobile applications remain performant, responsive, and reliable at scale.

Frontend Engineering Excellence

• Write maintainable, testable, and well-structured code using modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and React Native best practices.
• Implement state-management patterns and asynchronous workflows efficiently.
• Integrate third-party libraries, APIs, and supporting frameworks where required.
• Continuously improve application architecture, code quality, and development workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, QA teams, and senior developers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in technical discussions, sprint planning, feature estimation, and code reviews.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs and contribute to solution design decisions.
• Support feature releases, bug fixes, and continuous product improvements.

Performance & Quality Optimization

• Debug application issues, optimize performance bottlenecks, and improve app responsiveness.
• Ensure smooth user experiences across a wide range of Android devices and operating-system versions.
• Contribute to testing strategies through unit testing and automated quality checks.
• Maintain engineering standards through code reviews, linting, and version-control best practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on React Native development.
• Strong understanding of React fundamentals, component architecture, hooks, state management, and mobile application design principles.
• Solid experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Good understanding of Android mobile development concepts and device-specific considerations.
• Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and collaborative software development practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a product-focused engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Redux, Redux Saga, Zustand, Lerna, or similar state-management and application-architecture tools.
• Exposure to mobile testing frameworks such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, or similar solutions.
• Understanding of API integration, asynchronous programming, and mobile application performance optimization.
• Experience working in consumer internet, e-commerce, food-tech, or high-scale product companies is a plus.
