About Job
We are seeking a results-driven Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused
on developing scalable, cloud-native, data-intensive applications. This role is ideal for a highly skilled
backend engineer with deep experience in database technologies and a strong track record of building
and supporting data-intensive applications. You will play a critical role in designing scalable, high-performance solutions within our Phoenix system, leveraging a modern tech stack including Python,
Spark, PostgreSQL, and Airflow.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that process massive volumes of
consumer and retail data for customers around the globe.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend systems for high-volume data processing.
• Lead the design and optimization of relational and non-relational databases, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of production data pipelines and backend services.
• Provide hands-on production support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues that are time-sensitive for client delivery.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams involving Product, Operations, Design and Architecture teams to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Apply a deep understanding of complex business logic to enhance system capabilities and data workflows.
• Champion best practices in code quality, performance tuning, and maintainability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development, deployment, and monitoring processes.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise-grade applications, with a focus on backend and data systems.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for data processing and application development.
• Demonstrated expertise in PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting mission-critical, time-sensitive production environments and client facing data delivery.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and scalable system design.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to lead initiatives, mentor peers, and adapt to evolving technical landscapes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently drive complex technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI-enabled development workflows while maintaining engineering rigor, security standards, code quality, and architectural best practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
