Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in building scalable, high-performance web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot for backend development, React.js for frontend development, RESTful APIs, and cloud technologies. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly preferred. Candidates with experience in AWS or Microsoft Azure will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React.js .
• Develop backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Build responsive and user-friendly frontend applications using React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Integrate frontend components with backend services and third-party APIs.
• Design, develop, and optimise database queries and data models.
• Deploy and maintain applications on cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Write clean, reusable, secure, and maintainable code.
• Implement unit and integration testing to ensure application quality.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and other DevOps tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

The core requirements for the job include the following:

Backend Development:

• 6-9 years of experience in software development, with strong hands-on expertise in Java.
• Proficiency in Java 8+; experience with Java 11, 17, or 21 is preferred.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Good understanding of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

Frontend Development:

• Strong hands-on experience with React.js .
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with React Hooks, reusable components, and state management.
• Experience integrating React applications with backend REST APIs.
• Familiarity with TypeScript is an advantage.

Database:

• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Good understanding of SQL, database design, and query optimisation.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.

Cloud and DevOps:

• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform: GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• GCP experience is preferred, particularly with Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Build.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud monitoring tools is an advantage.
