Software Engineer

We're looking for a Software Engineer to build and scale the systems behind ConverseNow's Voice AI platform services that process millions of live drive-thru and phone orders every month, where performance, reliability, and guest experience all matter. This is a hands-on role with a direct line between the work you ship and the outcomes it creates. The feedback loop is fast, the problems are practical, and you'll have real input into product and engineering decisions. This role is ideal for an engineer with a few years of experience who's ready to take on more ownership, thrives in fast-moving environments, and cares about both building good systems and delivering business impact.

Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Ownership: Own features from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration, partnering with senior engineers on larger architectural decisions.
• Production Systems: Design, build, and maintain production-grade services with attention to scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Production Support: Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and drive high-quality resolutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, operations, and AI teams to turn ideas into reliable, scalable solutions.
• Automation and Tooling: Improve engineering workflows, developer productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Engineering Culture: Take part in design discussions and code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and help onboard newer engineers.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building, shipping, and maintaining production software.
• Proficiency in Go, or strong backend experience in another language and willingness to ramp up on Go quickly.
• Solid fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
• Working knowledge of performance, scalability, reliability, and operational best practices.
• Ability to own well-scoped problems end-to-end and make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, and business impact.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with customer-facing, high-availability, or real-time systems.
• Familiarity with AI-powered products, LLMs, or voice/conversational systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), Kubernetes, and distributed systems.
• Prior experience in startups or high-growth engineering teams.
