About this role
- As an SDE II, you will be part of the engineering team building scalable data and backend systems that power JioStar s Ad Platform. You will work on large-scale data pipelines and real-time systems supporting ad reporting, attribution, targeting, measurement, and analytics.

- Our engineering team works across the full AdTech stack-from high-throughput backend and data systems to deeply integrated ad experiences across client platforms. We work with a wide range of technologies, but more importantly, we solve complex engineering problems involving scale, reliability, real-time processing, and monetization.

- Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend systems for Ads reporting, attribution, analytics, and measurement. Build and optimize batch and real-time data processing workflows using technologies such as Spark, Hive, Kafka, SQL, and Scala.
- Work with large-scale datasets and distributed systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following engineering best practices. Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to build and deliver technical solutions. Develop and maintain data models, datasets, and APIs to support various Ads use cases. Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across different data sources.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in batch processing and real-time streaming pipelines. Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization. Continuously learn and explore new technologies relevant to large-scale data processing and distributed systems.
- Skills and Attributes for Success 2-4 years of experience in data engineering. Strong programming skills in Scala, Java, or Python. Hands-on experience or strong exposure to Apache Spark for batch or streaming data processing.
- Good understanding of SQL, Hive, and data modeling concepts. Experience working with Kafka or other messaging and event-streaming systems is preferred. Understanding of distributed systems and Big Data technologies. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as Presto, Delta Lake, Airflow, or similar technologies is a plus. Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, Databricks, or EMR is an added advantage. Experience or interest in AdTech, campaign analytics, attribution, or large-scale consumer platforms is a plus.
Preferred Education Experience
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in software development, backend engineering, data engineering, or building large-scale data systems.
