Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer III (SDE III) with strong Java backend development expertise and experience building scalable, distributed applications. The candidate will contribute to backend services, data processing solutions, and microservices while ensuring performance, reliability, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Work with distributed systems, data processing frameworks, and data storage formats.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and data processing workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
• Contribute to performance optimization and software engineering best practices.

Core Technical Skills

Backend & Microservices

• Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, Distributed Systems.

Data Formats & Storage

• Apache Parquet, Apache Iceberg, CSV, JSON, XML, Binary Data Handling.
• Data Lake Design Principles.

Query Engines & Analytics

• Trino, Amazon Athena, Advanced SQL.
• Apache Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, YARN.

Streaming & Search – Nice to Have

• Apache Kafka, Event-Driven Processing, OpenSearch, Indexing Workflows.

Security & Integration – Nice to Have

• SAML, LDAP, API Security, Service-to-Service Integration.

Operations & Technical Leadership

• Log Analysis, Production Troubleshooting, Technical Design Reviews, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Team Coordination.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Experience developing scalable backend applications and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of SQL, data processing, and database concepts.
• Exposure to Big Data technologies and data lake solutions is preferred.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
