About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Test Automation to support the development, testing, and delivery of high-quality enterprise software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and automated testing, regression testing, API validation, SQL-based data verification, and software quality assurance processes across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

In this role, you will collaborate with developers, business analysts, technical product owners, and business stakeholders to define testing strategies, develop comprehensive test plans, identify and resolve defects, and ensure applications meet functional, technical, and business requirements before production deployment.

The successful candidate will also contribute to test automation frameworks, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and engineering best practices across Agile delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Quality Assurance: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies aligned with enterprise coding standards, SDLC policies, and software quality requirements.
• Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts and frameworks using tools such as Mabl, QTP/UFT, Selenium WebDriver, and LoadRunner.
• Manual & Functional Testing: Create and execute test cases for functional, unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing to validate application functionality and reliability.
• Regression Testing: Build and maintain regression test suites, verify defect fixes, document test results, and ensure critical test scenarios pass before production releases.
• Test Planning & Execution: Lead the preparation and execution of test plans, test procedures, test scenarios, and self-documenting automated test cases for complex software projects.
• API Testing: Perform API testing using Postman and similar tools to validate RESTful and SOAP services, request and response structures, business logic, and integration workflows.
• Database Testing: Write SQL queries and database scripts to validate data integrity, analyze test results, investigate defects, and perform root-cause analysis across relational database systems.
• ODBC & Data Validation: Configure and utilize ODBC connections, database utilities, and query analysis tools to support cross-system data verification and test execution.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Coordinate with end users and business stakeholders to plan and execute UAT, including alpha and beta testing, ensuring business requirements and acceptance criteria are satisfied.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, reproduce, track, and investigate software defects. Collaborate with development teams to determine root causes and validate corrective actions.
• CI/CD & Release Readiness: Support automated builds, testing, source control branching and merging, and release pipelines to ensure software quality throughout the deployment lifecycle.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, developers, technical product owners, and QA teams to clarify requirements, define test artifacts, and maintain traceability between requirements and test coverage.
• Testing Strategy & Process Improvement: Establish testing approaches that address functional and non-functional requirements, improve test coverage, reduce delivery risks, and strengthen quality engineering practices.
• Technical Support & Mentoring: Support software upgrades, installations, and cross-functional initiatives while providing guidance to junior engineers on testing tools, automation frameworks, and QA best practices.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain test plans, test cases, automation scripts, defect reports, test execution results, and technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
• Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.

Professional Experience

• Relevant professional experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test automation, or software engineering, commensurate with the positions assigned level.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing manual and automated test cases across functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Demonstrated experience with test automation tools, API testing, SQL-based data validation, database scripting, and defect investigation.
• Experience working within enterprise SDLC environments and Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD workflows and supporting production release readiness.
• Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries is an advantage.

Required Certifications

Candidates must hold one of the following certifications:

• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
• ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst

Preferred Certifications

• Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) American Society for Quality (ASQ)
• Mabl Certified Professional or Selenium WebDriver certification
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

• Database & SQL: SQL queries, database scripting, relational database management systems, data validation, Query Analyzer, and ODBC configuration.
• Programming & Scripting: C, Visual Basic (VB), and scripting for test automation, debugging, and custom testing utilities.
• DevOps & Source Control: CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, release workflows, source control branching and merging, and integration of automated tests into development processes.
• SDLC & Agile Practices: Agile, Scrum, SAFe, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and software release management.
• Defect & Quality Management: Defect tracking, root-cause analysis, requirements traceability, test reporting, and continuous quality improvement.
• Collaboration Tools: Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
