    About The Role

The Software Developer (Automation/Full Stack) role at S&P Global offers an exciting opportunity to work within a modern, data-driven environment. You will be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team responsible for building and maintaining a scalable web application deployed on AWS. This platform focuses on data management, reporting, and analytics, utilizing a combination of Django, React, Databricks, and cloud-native AWS services. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of internal data workflows, security protocols, and user experience enhancements.

As a key member of the team, you will design, develop, deploy, and support end-to-end features across the platform. You will collaborate closely with product owners, data engineers, and DevOps professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and high-performing solutions. Your role involves working on both backend and frontend development, creating robust ETL pipelines, and automating deployment and monitoring processes to ensure operational stability and scalability.

This position provides a unique chance to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, including cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and automation practices, all within a production environment. You will be instrumental in building scalable data ingestion frameworks, enhancing data workflows, and supporting enterprise authentication systems.

    Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background complemented by soft skills that enable effective collaboration and problem-solving. Essential qualifications include:

    • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Python for backend development, ETL/data engineering, and Linux-based automation tasks.
    • Experience with REST API design, Databricks or similar platforms, SQL/data modeling, and full-stack development using Django and React.
    • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as EC2, VPC, ALB, Route 53, ACM, IAM, and containerization with Docker.
    • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems like Git, and SAML-based authentication systems such as Okta.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain backend systems using Django and Python, including designing REST APIs, implementing authentication mechanisms (SAML/Okta), and integrating with Databricks for data processing.
    • Build and enhance frontend applications with React, ensuring seamless integration with backend APIs, implementing user authentication, and creating intuitive workflows for data exploration, approvals, and reporting.
    • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, including configuring EC2 instances, VPCs, load balancers, DNS, SSL certificates, and IAM roles to ensure security and scalability.
    • Manage Docker environments and automate deployments using GitHub Actions, while continuously monitoring system performance and reliability.
    • Design, develop, and maintain Python-based ETL frameworks for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from various sources such as APIs, S3, databases, and external systems, ensuring pipelines are scalable and reusable.
    • Support and troubleshoot production ETL jobs across Linux, AWS Lambda, EC2, and Windows environments, resolving failures promptly, monitoring scheduled jobs, and conducting root cause analysis for long-term fixes.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to document APIs and processes, ensure secure handling of authentication secrets and infrastructure, and provide ongoing support for bug fixes, enhancements, and operational stability.
