Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and highly creative social media content creator who can take ownership of Zylus's social media content from ideation to execution.

You will be responsible for creating engaging, platform-native content across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts and other relevant channels, with a strong focus on Reels, short-form videos, storytelling and brand-building content.

This is not a purely executional posting role. We are looking for someone who understands what content works, why it works, and how to consistently turn ideas and trends into high-performing content.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end social media content lifecycle: ideation, scripting, creation, publishing, and performance analysis.
• Develop engaging Reels, short-form videos, posts, stories, carousels, and other social formats aligned with the Zylus brand.
• Write strong scripts, hooks, captions, and content narratives that drive attention and engagement.
• Conceptualise and create trend-driven and original content relevant to salon owners, beauty professionals and consumers.
• Be comfortable presenting/acting on camera and creating personality-led content when required.
• Work closely with the marketing and leadership teams to convert business objectives, product features, and campaigns into compelling social content.
• Identify emerging social media trends, formats, sounds, creators, and content patterns and quickly turn relevant trends into Zylu content.
• Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual/content quality across platforms.
• Analyse content performance, including reach, engagement, watch time, shares, saves, follower growth and conversions, and use insights to improve future content.
• Build and maintain a structured social media content calendar.
• Collaborate with designers, video editors, marketers, and other stakeholders to execute campaigns.
• Continuously experiment with new content formats, storytelling styles, and creative approaches.
• Take ownership of improving Zylus's organic social media presence and brand visibility.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in social media content creation / social media marketing.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating Reels, short-form videos, social campaigns and creative content.
• Strong understanding of Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and current social media trends.
• Excellent scripting, storytelling, copywriting, and content ideation skills.
• Strong understanding of hooks, retention, engagement, and platform-specific content.
• Comfortable appearing on camera and presenting content when required.
• Hands-on understanding of basic to intermediate video editing and content creation tools.
• Ability to work with speed and execute trending content quickly.
• Strong creative judgement with the ability to identify what will resonate with the target audience.
• Data-driven approach to content able to understand performance metrics and optimise accordingly.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of deliverables.
• Experience working in a startup, SaaS, B2B, or beauty/wellness brand is a strong plus.
