Snowflake Administrator

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced

Snowflake Administrator to manage, monitor, secure, and optimize enterprise Snowflake data warehouse environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring platform availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency while supporting production operations and collaborating with cross-functional teams across data engineering, analytics, and cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage Snowflake accounts, databases, schemas, virtual warehouses, resource monitors, and storage.
• Configure and maintain role-based access control (RBAC), users, roles, permissions, and security policies.
• Monitor Snowflake platform health, warehouse utilization, query performance, and resource consumption.
• Perform query optimization, warehouse tuning, and cost optimization to improve system performance and efficiency.
• Support production incidents by troubleshooting issues, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing preventive measures.
• Manage Snowflake features such as Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, Fail-safe, Data Sharing, and Replication.
• Plan and execute backup, disaster recovery, environment refreshes, migrations, and release management activities.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, DevOps, and Cloud teams to ensure reliable platform operations.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting where applicable.
• Maintain operational documentation, security standards, and governance best practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Administration
• Expertise in SQL and Query Performance Tuning
• Experience with RBAC, user provisioning, security, and access management
• Hands-on experience with Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Resource Monitors, Time Travel, and Data Sharing
• Performance monitoring and cost optimization of Snowflake environments
• Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms
• Production support, incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of backup, replication, disaster recovery, and environment management Good to Have
• Python or Shell scripting for automation
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools
• Exposure to DevOps practices and cloud-native services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of overall IT experience with relevant experience in Snowflake Administration.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Snowflake certification is an added advantage.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
