Site Manager - Solar Power Plant Operations

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

- Oversee daily operations of solar PV plants, substations, and associated infrastructure.

- Monitor plant performance and energy generation through SCADA and remote monitoring systems.

- Ensure optimal plant availability and achievement of generation targets.

- Analyze operational data and identify performance improvement opportunities.

Maintenance Management:

- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

- Plan and supervise maintenance of solar modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, trackers, and transmission systems.

- Coordinate shutdowns and maintenance schedules to minimize generation losses.

- Ensure timely resolution of equipment failures and operational issues.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

- Monitor key performance indicators including Plant Availability, PR, CUF, Specific Yield, and Energy Generation.

- Conduct root cause analysis for plant underperformance and equipment failures.

- Recommend and implement performance enhancement initiatives.

HSE & Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, electrical safety standards, and permit-to-work systems.

- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.

- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Team Leadership:

- Manage O&M engineers, technicians, supervisors, and contractors.

- Plan manpower and resources effectively.

- Provide technical training and support continuous skill development.

- Evaluate team performance and drive operational improvements.

Budget & Cost Control:

- Prepare annual O&M budgets and maintenance plans.

- Monitor operational expenses and optimize maintenance costs.

- Manage spare-parts inventory and procurement requirements.

- Manage service contracts with vendors and OEMs.

Regulatory & Stakeholder Management:

- Ensure compliance with grid codes, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.

- Coordinate inspections with regulatory authorities and clients.

- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, investors, and key stakeholders.

- Manage warranty claims and OEM support activities.

Reporting & Documentation:

- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plant performance reports.

- Maintain maintenance logs, failure analysis reports, and operational records.

- Analyze operational trends and provide recommendations to senior management.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

- 8 - 12 years of experience in solar power plant operations and maintenance.

- Experience managing utility-scale solar plants ranging from 50 MW to 500+ MW.

- Strong knowledge of Solar PV systems, SCADA, inverters, transformers, switchyards, grid connectivity, and power evacuation systems.
