Site Accountant

Responsibilities

• Track daily and monthly site-level expenditures
• Monitor committed costs, work-in-progress (WIP) and identify cost overruns or unauthorised site expenditures early
• Reconcile physical project milestones with payment applications, subcontractor claims, and client billing
• Perform three-way matching across purchase orders (PO), Goods Received Notes and vendor delivery tickets prior to invoice processing
• Maintain accurate records for retention money, mobilisation advances, liquidated damages, and statutory deductions (eg, TDS, GST/VAT, worker compensation deductions).
• Manage on-site petty cash disbursements for emergency site purchases, equipment fuelling, site permits, and incidental expenses
• Perform daily cash reconciliations, maintain accurate vouchers, and submit periodic replenishment requests to head office
• Conduct periodic physical inventory audits
• Track the attendance of skilled and unskilled site labourers
• Prepare wage sheets for daily-wage or weekly-wage site labourers, verifying overtime records with site supervisors
• Assist site management in maintaining statutory labour compliance, worker insurance records, and site safety audit documentation
• Support internal and statutory auditors during site-level financial, operational, and inventory audits.
• Maintain the stock register and stock management on a periodic basis
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Tally is an added advantage
