Job Description: Discrete Event Simulation (DES) Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Discrete Event Simulation (DES) Engineer responsible for the development, delivery, and documentation of simulation models. The role involves modelling manufacturing/process flows from the concept stage through the delivery phase up to JOB1 + 90 days, supporting system optimisation and overall programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models from initial concept through to detailed simulation of the complete programme/system.
• Model and analyse manufacturing/process flows to evaluate system performance and identify potential improvements.
• Ensure simulation solutions support key objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and environment.
• Perform system optimisation, identify cost-avoidance opportunities, and capture/share best practices with relevant stakeholders.
• Work closely with design and engineering teams to develop and optimise solutions while considering multiple design attributes and constraints.
• Apply product and process knowledge to identify potential design constraints, bottlenecks, capacity issues, and operational challenges.
• Evaluate performance metrics and provide simulation-based recommendations to support decision-making.
• Coordinate with project teams and relevant stakeholders to collect inputs, communicate findings, and incorporate feedback.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate simulation models, reports, and technical documentation.
• Deliver assigned activities within defined programme deadlines and time constraints.
