Shift Incharge - Logistics, Meghalaya

Role & responsibilities :

• Manage and control end-to-end logistics dispatch operations during the assigned shift while ensuring timely loading, accurate documentation, safety compliance, and optimal utilization of resources
• Closely coordinate with sales, packing plant and production teams to align dispatch requirements with availability.
• Coordinate with transporters and fleet operators for vehicle placement and scheduling.
• Ensure smooth truck/rail rake movement, minimizing waiting and turnaround time.
• Ensure proper weighbridge operations, track vehicle movement, and resolve dispatch-related issues.
• Ensure accurate dispatch documentation (invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills, gate passes).
• Maintain shift-wise records & reports of dispatch quantity, vehicle count, exceptions, delays, breakdowns, and incidents.
• Enforce safety protocols at loading points, yards, and weighbridges.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure use of PPE by drivers and contract workers.
• Supervise shift logistics staff, loading operators, and contract workforce.
• Liaise with Sales, Production, Quality, and Security teams for seamless dispatch.
• Handle customer-related dispatch escalations during the shift.
• Communicate shift handover details clearly to the incoming shift Incharge
• Identify opportunities to improve turnaround time, cost efficiency, and logistics safety performance.
• Support logistics audits and improvement initiatives.
