Job Brief: JSW Steel Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee and manage the operations within the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) during assigned shifts. The role demands a deep understanding of steel manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting operational issues, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality. This position requires strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in steel melting operations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adhering to JSW Steel's commitment to safety and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all activities within the Steel Melting Shop during the assigned shift to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Monitor and control the steel melting process parameters to maintain product quality and meet production targets.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of SMS equipment.
• Implement and enforce safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Analyze operational data and troubleshoot process deviations or equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing process efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality.
• Prepare and maintain detailed shift reports, including production data, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with quality control and production planning teams to align operations with overall manufacturing goals.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and operators to build technical capabilities within the team.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies related to steel melting operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel manufacturing or heavy industrial operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or shift lead role within a Steel Melting Shop or similar environment.
