Shift Engineer-Forming

Experience: 3-8 years (glass industry experience is mandatory)
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Glass Technology, or a related engineering discipline.

We are looking for a Shift Engineer - Forming to manage and monitor the glass forming process during the assigned shift. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth production operations, maintaining product quality, minimizing rejection and machine downtime, and managing the forming team to achieve production targets.

• Manage day-to-day forming operations on the production line during the assigned shift.

• Monitor glass forming machines and ensure smooth production as per production plans and quality standards.

• Coordinate with the furnace, feeder, mould, machine maintenance, and quality teams to maintain consistent production.

• Monitor forming parameters, machine settings, temperature, and glass distribution to ensure product quality.

• Identify and resolve forming defects such as cracks, checks, blisters, uneven thickness, and other glass defects.

• Minimize production losses, rejection rates, and machine downtime through effective troubleshooting.

• Supervise operators and production staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures.

• Maintain shift-wise production reports, rejection data, downtime records, and other relevant documentation.

• Ensure mould changes, job changes, and machine adjustments are carried out as per production requirements.

• Coordinate preventive maintenance and report machine-related issues to the maintenance team.

• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and shift handover requirements are met.

• Experience in glass manufacturing (mandatory), specifically in the forming section.

• Knowledge of glass forming machines, production processes, and defect analysis.

• Ability to handle shift operations, production teams, and troubleshooting.

• Understanding of production planning, quality control, and rejection reduction.

• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and team-handling skills.
