Service Engineer B2B (Pumps & Compressors)

Role & responsibilities

1. Installation, Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning

• Supervise and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for pumps, compressors, and associated equipment at customer sites.
• Inspect equipment installation, alignment, piping, electrical connections, instrumentation, and other relevant parameters prior to commissioning.
• Conduct functional and performance testing of equipment in accordance with approved procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Identify and rectify installation and commissioning-related issues.
• Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and other required service documentation.

2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Respond promptly to customer complaints, technical queries, and service requests.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and operational problems affecting equipment performance.
• Analyze symptoms, inspection findings, operating conditions, and equipment history to identify root causes.
• Recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions to restore equipment performance.

3. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of installed pumps, compressors, and related equipment.
• Inspect equipment condition and identify potential failures before they occur.
• Advise customer maintenance teams on appropriate maintenance practices and procedures.

4. Customer Service & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during service activities.
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with customers and ensure timely resolution of service requirements.
• Understand customer concerns and provide practical, technically sound solutions.
• Conduct product and equipment training for customers, operators, and maintenance personnel.

5. Product & Industry Knowledge & Reporting

• Develop a thorough understanding of the company's pumps, compressors, and associated equipment.
• Experience in the pump/compressor industry will be an advantage
• Prepare detailed service reports, commissioning reports, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
• Maintain accurate records of customer complaints, service visits, repairs, spare parts, and equipment performance.
• Work closely with Technical Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, Spare Parts, and Service teams to resolve customer issues.
• Coordinate availability of spare parts, tools, manpower, and other resources required for service activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of mechanical equipment, particularly pumps and compressors.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple service assignments and prioritize activities effectively.
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer locations.
