SEO & AEO Manager

About this role
Northstar Digital is a digital agency working across SEO, answer-engine optimization, content, and online reputation. Our accounts include real estate developers with large, fast-changing project inventories, where a wrong possession date or an unregistered project number on a page is a real problem, not a typo. We run every account on a defined operating cadence, and each recurring task produces a dated artifact. The work is measured on whether that artifact exists and is correct, not on whether the week looked busy. People who like a clear standard tend to enjoy this.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Daily:
- Search Console coverage and manual actions analytics anomaly scan rank alerts on the priority set; same-day QA on anything published, GBP reviews, Q& As, suggested edits, mentions, and backlink alerts logging client requests.
Weekly:
- Rank movement with a stated cause for every mover query and CTR analysis; crawl diffs on changed sections; index coverage on new pages; internal linking passes; prompt-set runs across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews; and competitor watch chasing client-side blockers.
Monthly:
- Full technical audit: metadata, headings, schema, canonicals, redirects, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, AEO readiness, backlink profile, 90-day content performance cannibalization checks, ranking, traffic, and ORM reports for the client deck and call.
Quarterly:
- Page-gap analysis and the next build list, competitor analysis, site architecture review, keyword universe refresh and remapping, and content decay decisions. Plus trigger checklists for traffic drops, migrations, launches, and reputation incidents.
Beyond SEO:
- This is a small team, so the role does not stop at a job title. Content briefs, QA against brand guardrails, formatting to our page templates, and writing yourself when the queue needs it. ORM monitoring reviews, forums, and coverage; drafting responses; tracking sentiment; and working on portal and community threads.
- Client-facing work: the monthly deck, call prep, and minutes with owners and dates. And whatever the quarter needs: AEO research runs, listing-page programs, competitor teardowns, or testing a new tool and telling us whether it earns its cost.
- We would rather hire someone curious who has not done half of this yet than someone who has done exactly this and wants the boundaries to stay where they are.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of hands-on SEO, with at least one account owned end-to-end.
- Google Search Console: read a coverage and query report unaided.
- Ahrefs, or a comparable suite, for ranks, backlinks, and competitor work.
- Screaming Frog or equivalent, including building a redirect map.
- On-page: titles, metas, headings, internal linking, and JSON-LD literacy.
- Keyword research and keyword-to-URL mapping.
- Clearly written English: clients read what you write.
Useful, Not Essential:
- Real estate SEO; RERA and project data.
- AEO/GEO prompt tracking, citation analysis, and schema for citability.
- Google Business Profile and local SEO.
- WordPress or a comparable CMS; basic HTML and CSS.
- Sheets beyond the basics: COUNTIFS, pivots, and clean tracking sheets.
- Off-site and portal seeding, or ORM experience.
