Senior User Interface Developer

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As an early career UI engineer, you will join KIBO at the forefront of the modular commerce revolution where you will orchestrate AI tools to build high-performance interfaces. You are an AI-native developer who leverages modern agents to rapidly prototype, style, and test React components while maintaining production standards. Your work will ensure that AI-generated UI code meets strict requirements for accessibility and pixel-perfect design across our global commerce platform.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Build responsive web components using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Accelerate the creation of UI layouts and design system components using AI coding tools.
• Provide AI tools with specific context like style guides and JSON schemas to generate high-quality UI code.
• Generate comprehensive unit tests using Jest and Playwright to ensure stability across browsers.
• Transform Figma designs into functional React code through AI-assisted workflows.
• Audit frontend performance to optimize Core Web Vitals and efficient rendering.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• • 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development with a strong focus on React.
• Proven experience owning features end-to-end, from design through deployment.
• Deep fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as a core part of your daily workflow.
• Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and utility-first frameworks like Tailwind CSS.
• Demonstrated experience architecting component libraries or design systems, not just building individual components.
• Solid grounding in design principles — typography, layout, accessibility (WCAG), and interaction design.
• A track record as a strong problem solver who can debug ambiguous issues and make sound architectural trade-offs independently.
• Experience writing frontend tests with Jest, React Testing Library, or Playwright.
• Solid understanding of Git and collaborative workflows including code reviews.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience giving technical direction to other engineers.
• Familiarity with Claude Design or similar AI-native design/prototyping tools.
