Senior US Accountant - End To End Accounting & Team Support

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior US Accountant who can independently manage the complete end-to-end accounting process for US-based clients.

The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of US accounting principles, hands-on experience in finalizing books of accounts, preparing financial statements, and managing month-end closing activities.

In addition to handling accounting responsibilities independently, the candidate should be capable of guiding junior accountants, resolving their day-to-day accounting queries, and reviewing their work to ensure accuracy and timely deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End US Accounting

• Independently manage the complete accounting cycle for US-based clients.
• Handle bookkeeping, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
• Perform general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
• Manage bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related accounting activities.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Finalize books of accounts and prepare accurate financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies independently.

2. Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Apply US GAAP principles in day-to-day accounting activities.
• Review financial transactions and ensure correct accounting treatment.
• Analyze general ledger balances and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and review financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of accounting assignments.

3. Team Guidance & Review

• Provide technical accounting guidance to junior accountants.
• Resolve accounting-related queries and explain appropriate accounting treatments.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and identify errors.
• Support junior accountants in understanding complex accounting transactions.
• Coordinate with the reporting manager regarding unresolved issues, work progress, and deadlines.

4. Client Accounting & Ownership

• Take ownership of assigned US client accounts.
• Independently manage accounting deliverables and deadlines.
• Identify issues proactively and communicate them to the reporting manager.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across accounting records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 36 years of relevant hands-on experience in US Accounting.
• Strong practical knowledge of end-to-end US accounting processes.
• Proven experience in month-end closing, book finalization, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to independently investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Ability to review and guide junior accountants.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

Please apply only if you have relevant, practical experience in end-to-end US accounting.

Candidates must have hands-on experience in managing the complete accounting cycle, including month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, finalization of books, and financial statement preparation.

Candidates whose experience is limited to Indian Accounting, basic bookkeeping, data entry, or only one accounting function such as AP/AR, without exposure to the complete US accounting cycle, will not be considered for this position.
