Senior UFT Automation Engineer Oracle EBS

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced UFT One Automation Engineers to support the migration of existing OPKEY automated tests to OpenText UFT One and modernize the automation framework for Oracle EBS and other enterprise applications.

This role requires more than script conversion. Candidates should be able to analyze existing OPKEY assets, redesign and refactor tests where needed, build reusable UFT components, and establish a scalable and maintainable automation framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing OPKEY automation assets and migrate/redesign them in UFT One.
• Design and implement scalable, reusable, and maintainable UFT automation frameworks.
• Automate Oracle EBS end-to-end business processes and regression scenarios.
• Develop reusable function libraries, actions, Object Repositories, test data utilities, logging, error handling, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot object identification, dynamic objects, synchronization, and execution issues.
• Convert existing manual and automated test cases into maintainable UFT solutions.
• Establish automation coding standards, framework standards, and best practices.
• Integrate automation assets with Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD tools.
• Support scheduled and unattended automated test execution.
• Collaborate with business SMEs, functional teams, developers, and QA teams to validate test coverage.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and mentoring to QA team members.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of test automation experience with 4+ years of hands-on UFT One experience.
• Strong VBScript programming and debugging skills.
• Strong knowledge of Object Repository, Object Identification, Descriptive Programming, Actions, Checkpoints, Data Tables, Recovery Scenarios, and reusable components.
• Experience designing modular, reusable, data-driven, and/or keyword-driven automation frameworks.
• Experience with functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience integrating Excel, CSV, XML, or other external test data sources.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and source-control practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with OPKEY-to-UFT or similar automation platform migration/modernization projects.
• Hands-on experience automating Oracle EBS, including modules such as Order Management, AP, AR, GL, Purchasing, Inventory, and Fixed Assets.
• Experience with REST/SOAP API testing and JSON/XML validation.
• Experience with Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, or other CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with Web, Angular, React, SAP, desktop, or terminal/mainframe applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate directly with business and technical stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on UFT implementation and migration expert, not simply someone who develops UFT scripts. The candidate should have experience migrating and redesigning automation assets, building UFT frameworks, automating Oracle EBS business processes, resolving complex object-identification issues, and establishing automation standards for long-term maintainability and scalability.

Salary: 16–24 LPA, negotiable for the right candidate. Candidates must be able to provide a minimum of 6 hours of overlap with US working hours.
