Senior Trader -Sugar (South Asia)

Reporting to regional (Sugar platform) management in Singapore, the incumbent will Lead and grow LDCs sugar business across South Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh) delivering profitable growth and commercial objectives.

• Develop and execute trading, origination, and customer engagement strategies aligned with regional objectives.
• Lead physical trading activities across raw, white, and refined sugar markets within approved risk parameters.
• Build and maintain relationships with sugar mills, refiners, traders, industrial consumers, financial institutions, and government stakeholders.
• Develop and expand bonded warehouse operations in the region to enhance regional trade flows and strengthen LDCs market position in South Asia
• Partner closely with LDCs Grains & Oilseeds Platform to identify and develop opportunities to market grains and feedstock solutions to sugar producers with ethanol manufacturing capacity, leveraging integrated customer relationships and supporting the growth of the broader biofuels value chain.
• Monitor market fundamentals, trade flows, government policies, ethanol programmes, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks.
• Negotiate commercial contracts and supply agreements with customers and suppliers.
• Manage price, freight, execution, and counterparty risks associated with trading activities.
• Collaborate with regional and global trading teams to optimise trade flows and capture arbitrage opportunities.
• Provide market intelligence and commercial recommendations to regional management.
• Develop the South Asia sugar team and foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Work closely with operations, logistics, finance, legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure efficient contract execution and compliance.
• Contribute to the strategic development and growth of LDCs Sugar platform across South & South East Asia. Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in sugar trading, merchandising or commodity trading
• Academics: Degree in any field
• English (Fluent) and Hindi (Fluent)
