We are looking for an experienced Senior Tool & Die Maker with 5–15 years of hands-on experience in die making, mould making, tool room activities and mould assembly.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of individual mould making, mould fitting, assembly, spotting, correction, troubleshooting and mould trials, along with the ability to handle and guide a team of tool room technicians and fitters.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality, accuracy, timely completion and smooth execution of mould/tool manufacturing activities.

• Handle individual mould making and tool manufacturing activities from component manufacturing to final assembly.

• Perform mould fitting, spotting, assembly, polishing, finishing and correction.

• Handle complete mould assembly including core, cavity, inserts, ejector system, guide pillars, bushes and other mould components.

• Work independently in the Tool Room and Mould Assembly Section.

• Read and understand mould drawings, assembly drawings, dimensions, tolerances and fits.

• Operate and guide team members on conventional tool-room machines such as milling, lathe, grinding, drilling and other machines.

• Carry out mould modification, correction, rework and troubleshooting.

• Conduct and support mould trials, identify problems and implement necessary corrections.

• Troubleshoot issues such as flash, mismatch, ejection problems, dimensional variation, alignment issues and fitting problems.

• Ensure proper measurement and inspection using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge and other measuring instruments.

• Coordinate with Design, Production and Quality teams for mould development, corrections and trials.

• Ensure moulds are completed as per quality standards and delivery timelines.

• Maintain tool room equipment, machines and moulds properly.

• Follow 5S, safety and housekeeping standards in the Tool Room.

• Lead and supervise Tool Room and Mould Assembly team members.

• Allocate daily work to Tool Makers, Fitters and Tool Room Technicians.

• Monitor team productivity, quality and work progress.

• Guide junior team members in mould fitting, assembly, correction and troubleshooting.

• Train team members on proper tool room practices, mould assembly and safety procedures.

• Ensure work is completed within the planned production and delivery schedule.

• Coordinate with management and other departments regarding job status, technical issues and manpower requirements.

• Take responsibility for resolving technical issues at the shop-floor level.

• 5–15 years of experience in die making, mould making, tool making or a related field.

• Strong hands-on experience in individual mould making.

• Experience in complete mould fitting, assembly, spotting and correction.

• Experience working in a Tool Room / Mould Manufacturing environment.

• Good knowledge of injection moulds / plastic moulds.

• Strong understanding of mould components, assembly sequence, fits and tolerances.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering and mould drawings.

• Good knowledge of conventional tool-room machines.

• Strong knowledge of mould troubleshooting and modification.

• Experience in team handling and work allocation.

• Good leadership and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to independently handle critical mould manufacturing and assembly activities.

ITI – Tool & Die Making / Tool Room
or
Diploma in Mechanical / Tool & Die Making / Production Engineering

The ideal candidate should be someone who has progressed from hands-on Tool Maker / Mould Maker to a Senior Tool Room / Team Leader level.

The candidate should be capable of:

Mould Making Component Manufacturing Fitting Spotting Assembly Trial Troubleshooting Correction Final Mould Completion

along with handling and guiding a team of Tool Makers/Fitters.
