Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in test automation and Retail Banking & Payments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in developing automation frameworks, UI and API automation, functional and regression testing, and validating complex banking and payment workflows.

The candidate should have strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript and practical experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured.

Experience working with North America Retail Banking and Payments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance UI and API automation frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate REST APIs, including request/response payloads, status codes, authentication, data validation, and error handling.
• Perform backend data validation using SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
• Automate and validate web, desktop, mainframe, file/PDF, and email-based workflows.
• Test end-to-end banking and payment transactions including ACH, Wires, RTP, Bill Pay, and Cards.
• Validate customer onboarding, account servicing, transaction processing, and core banking workflows.
• Analyze requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts, and test data.
• Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product teams, and other stakeholders to resolve defects and ensure quality delivery.
• Build reusable automation components, utilities, and frameworks to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Proactively identify testing risks, dependencies, quality gaps, and potential automation opportunities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation standards, and testing methodologies.
• Explore and implement AI/LLM and GenAI-based testing and automation capabilities where applicable.

Required Skills

• 3–10 years of experience in Software Testing / QA Automation.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium and at least one modern automation tool such as Playwright or Cypress.
• Strong experience in API Testing and REST Assured.
• Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with databases such as Oracle or DB2.
• Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Banking & Payments Domain

Candidates should have good knowledge of North America Retail Banking, with exposure to one or more of the following:

• Core Banking
• Customer Onboarding
• Account Opening and Servicing
• Transaction Processing
• ACH
• Wire Transfers
• Real-Time Payments (RTP)
• Bill Pay
• Cards / Card Payments
• Payment processing and transaction validation

Good to Have

• Experience in mainframe testing/automation.
• Experience with desktop, file/PDF, and email automation.
• Exposure to AI/LLM-enabled automation or GenAI-based testing.
• Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines.
• ISTQB, Automation Testing, or Cloud certifications.
• Experience working with large-scale banking or financial services applications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
