Senior Test Automation Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer / QA Automation Lead with strong expertise in Playwright and AI-driven testing. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks and should be comfortable leveraging AI/Generative AI tools and techniques to improve software testing efficiency and quality.

Mandatory Skills

• Playwright – Mandatory
• Strong experience in Test Automation
• Hands-on experience with AI / Generative AI in Software Testing
• Strong programming experience in JavaScript / TypeScript / Java / Python
• Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks
• Strong knowledge of API Testing and UI Testing
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation execution
• Good understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Playwright-based automation frameworks.
• Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications and APIs.
• Leverage AI / Generative AI tools to enhance test case creation, test script generation, test data generation, defect analysis, and automation efficiency.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot automation failures and application defects.
• Develop reusable automation components and frameworks.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure quality.
• Perform regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Contribute to improving automation coverage, test execution time, and overall QA processes.
• Mentor junior QA/automation engineers and provide technical guidance where required.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with TypeScript / JavaScript / Java / Python
• Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or other automation tools
• Exposure to LLM / Generative AI-based testing
• Experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools
• Knowledge of API automation tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or Playwright API testing
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS / Azure / GCP
• Experience with performance or security testing is an added advantage

Candidate Profile

• 8–16 years of overall experience in Software Testing / QA Automation
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
• Demonstrable experience using AI / GenAI for software testing or test automation
• Strong programming and automation framework development skills
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in Agile development environments
