Job Summary
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer in supporting a critical function within the Wells Fargo Enterprise,Mainframe and Midrange ConsoleMonitoring.
Responsibilities - Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
- Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
- Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience in Mainframe console operations
- Experience using incident tracking tools (Service Now) for change management, problem and incident management, and availability management.
- Monitor theoverallMainframe/Midrange systemenvironment,responding to alert messages and resolving routine production, application and system problems according to operating instructions or with guidance to ensure that the data center service commitments are met
- Implement best practices for Mainframe Operations. Process Development, Quality Management Processes, Industry Knowledge
- Runs scripts and drafts updates to processing procedures / documentation within the data center for application processing and backup
- Develop knowledge business cycles and capabilities to assess the impact of technology events on the business and other support areas
- Collaborate with management and teams to handle questions or problems
- Act as a mentor for individuals
- Knowledge of scripting languages, - JCL,system utilities, operating systems, tape processing, scheduling packages and incident and change management principles.
- Demonstrated ability in MF skills: z/OS related (JES2, VTAM etc.), CICS, IMS, DB2, HMC, Console commands, IPL etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of technology support: logically analyzing, diagnosing, and solving technology problems (system, network, application, or field hardware).
- Must be self-motivated, able to multitask and work under pressure as a member of a high performance geographically dispersed team
