Senior System Administrator

About the Role

Alyssum Global Services is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage the performance, security and reliability of its IT infrastructure. The role involves hands-on network administration, cloud services, enterprise productivity platforms, backup and disaster recovery, and advanced technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage firewalls, switches, routers and virtual servers.
• Administer and optimize AWS and GCP cloud environments for performance, security and cost.
• Manage Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, including access controls, security policies and governance.
• Design, test and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Manage Active Directory, Windows Server and Linux environments, including patching and access management.
• Provide Tier 23 technical support and lead root-cause analysis for complex issues.
• Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Coordinate technology rollouts with IT teams and vendors, maintain documentation and mentor junior IT staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration, including senior-level responsibilities.
• Mandatory hands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls and switches.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Strong understanding of backup systems and disaster recovery.
• Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server and Linux.
• Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and documentation skills, with fluent English.

Good to Have

• Azure experience.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira.
