Senior SyBase Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Sybase Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Sybase ASE administration, database performance tuning, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, and production support.

Responsibilities:

• Administer Sybase ASE databases in production environments.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
• Manage backup and recovery processes.
• Install, configure, and maintain database systems.
• Troubleshoot production database issues and provide support.
• Monitor database health and perform regular health checks.
• Manage database security, including users, roles, and permissions.
• Use Unix/Linux and scripting for automation where needed.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in Sybase Database Administration (DBA).
• Hands-on experience with Sybase ASE administration.
• Experience in database performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with backup and recovery.
• Knowledge of database installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for production database issues.
• Experience with database monitoring and health checks.
• Knowledge of database security, users, roles, and permissions.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux and scripting for automation.
• Minimum 7.5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Strong hands-on Sybase DBA experience is mandatory.
• 15 years of full-time education is required.
