Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

JSW One Platforms is building India's integrated B2B commerce platform for manufacturers, MSMEs and project businesses. We are looking for a sourcing professional who has bought steel at scale for a steel-consuming business. The role owns strategic and project sourcing of steel building the vendor base, negotiating commercial terms and controlling cost through a clear understanding of how steel prices are built up.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and project-wise sourcing of steel, with a focus on flat products plates, HR/CR coils and sheets, GI/GP and PPGL.
• Develop and manage a reliable vendor base of mills, service centres, distributors and processors; qualify and onboard alternate sources.
• Run RFQs, e-auctions and rate contracts; negotiate price, payment terms, delivery and quality commitments.
• Build cost breakups and should-cost models covering base price, extras, processing, freight and taxes to arrive at landed cost.
• Track steel market prices and trends to plan purchase timing and manage price risk through index-linked pricing and price variation clauses.
• Align sourcing plans with project schedules and budgets; ensure on-time availability of material.
• Work with project, finance, quality and logistics teams on vendor performance and supply issues.
• Report on spend, savings, vendor performance and supply risk to leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in direct, strategic or project sourcing of steel in a steel-consuming organisation EPC, PEB, heavy engineering, elevators, construction equipment or auto components Proven vendor development and commercial negotiation track record.
• Flat steel sourcing experience is preferred.
• Strong grasp of steel cost structures, grades and specifications, and landed-cost calculation.
• Working knowledge of SAP MM / Ariba or similar procurement systems.
• B.E./B.Tech (any branch) is required; MBA is preferred.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
