Senior SQL DBA – Azure Migration Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator with strong expertise in Azure SQL and database migration. The candidate will be responsible for regular database administration tasks including backup, restore, updates, and performance tuning, along with leading a large-scale migration project involving dozens of on-prem SQL databases to Azure SQL Managed Instances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day administration of SQL databases.

• Lead and execute database migration activities using automation and migration tools.

• Coordinate with clients to plan and manage cutover schedules, testing, and post-migration validation.

• Ensure adherence to best practices and compliance standards throughout the migration process.

• Work in US day-time hours, with flexibility for after-hours or weekend cutovers and testing.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in SQL Server administration and Azure SQL environments.

• Hands-on expertise in database migration tools and automation.

• Strong communication and client coordination skills.

• Willingness to work flexible hours based on project needs.
