Role Description As a Senior Software Engineer at 72east, you will design, develop, and maintain robust software systems that support the firm’s investment banking and advisory workflows. On a day-to-day basis, you will build and optimize back-end services, integrate data sources, and ensure secure, scalable platforms for internal teams and stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with product, operations, and investment teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, conduct code reviews, and improve engineering standards and best practices. The role also involves troubleshooting complex issues, refining system architecture, and mentoring other engineers to elevate overall technical quality. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, building scalable, secure, and maintainable services.
• Advanced Programming skills with experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, APIs, microservices, and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Ability to write clean, testable code and use version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in fintech, capital markets, or data-heavy enterprise applications is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
